I saw this series of pictures on Pixdaus, it made me think of how much my family spends on food compared to the rest of the world, and how well we eat. Just thought I'd share these with you. Click on the link, and look for this series, then... thoughts?

I can't make the images very large; is it just me?

Nm. I see I should clicky the link, not the photos....

I tried to copy directly from pixhaus, but it didn't work well so had to do the next best thing.

Great site, Meggs... I looked at those and boy do I feel bad for the family in Africa that doesn't have that much varied foods, but I feel worse for the American family who consciously chooses to eat junk and prepared foods and very little of fruits and vegetables...

Is she the photographer? I wasn't able to find a source, but would be happy to give her credit.

Thanks Bingo, I'll change the link.

This is very cool.

megs, you may find this book interesting:

It's the same general concept, except it has to do with all your possessions. Each family, representing an "average" family of the region of the world (granted, it's not meant to represent all that there could be), and they lay out their possessions, with their most prized possession in the center. It's quite an interesting book.

It also makes you wonder not just how much people spend a week on food, but how much of that food never actually gets eaten and gets thrown out(at least in the US and Europe). I mean I honestly don't get that much food to begin with A) because I have no money and go to the Food Pantry and B) I don't see the point in purchasing gross amounts of food at once especially if its going to go to waste.

It actually makes me sad to see how much people spend on junk and things that aren't healthy for them.

Maybe they could have used a font that was harder to read.
