40 maggots removed from woman's nose
40 maggots removed from woman's nose

I always thought that maggots only ate dead, rotting tissue and left the clean pieces alone? Doctors today still sometimes use maggots to clean open wounds out...

Certain kinds only eat dead tissue, the kind doctors use.

But some eat any meat at all.

Oh, got it. Also, I can't help but imagine how much of a different story this would be if the maggots matured and she started sneezing flies in India.

Yep, doctors can only use a certain kind because some will eat the good tissue too.
Please don't make me look up which do what.

Like I said - puke!

Phaenica sericata and Lucilia sericata are the ones used medically. Most of the rest, it just varies.

I don't worry about maggots.
