I was looking at that series earlier and one has to wonder how much of the children's plight is because of poor parenting.

The girl in your thumb for instance, her father is a car mechanic but can't read. Car mechanics can make good money. Learn to freaking read. Be a man, take care of your daughter, get yourself off of welfare.

Others with 11 brothers and sisters. Of course each new kid means another government check, but if you refuse to provide for your kids...

Of course you have the large percentage of teenage pregnancy which creates another set of problems.

I don't know if it's gotten better or worse. The fact is that the story is over two decades old, and a lot can happen in that amount of time. Why post news that isn't news? Current statistics are available.

I never even once said that it was getting better. I said that twenty years is a long time when it comes to social issues. YOU posted current stats, but I wasn't commenting on you. The OP posted an old, ancient, archaic, fossilized news article. It's time for you to get in the game.

The game is reality, my friend. I'm waiting for you to show up. It's not an issue about how old the story is, it's about it ain't getting any better. Read it right or leave it alone.

Dangerman doesn't normally refer to himself in the third person but he will tonight. Dangerman has lived in Chicago since 1963. Dangerman has seen Chicagos neighborhoods change for the better due to housing upgrades and employment opportunities in the poorer areas. Dangerman can say, from the first person perspective, that 1985 Chicago does not resemble 2007 Chicago "et all".The poor starving people moved to Gary, Indiana.Dangerman will now post a clip about a rumor of America landing a "Spaceship" on the moon.
